MMRTD is not only a research and invention project but also a social initiative with the aim of tackling pressing health issues with innovation and technology and making a profound impact in our community.
MMRTD Rehab Program
Partnered with the Hong Kong Society for the Aged (SAGE) to launch the MMRTD rehab program at their elderly care centers, targeting 1,000 members.
Spearheaded the therapy program on a monthly basis for elderly patients with mild ((MMSE score ≥20) and moderate dementia (MMSE score 10 - 19) to improve their physical and cognitive abilities. Working with their certified dementia care planner and occupational therapist to track the advancement of the elderly patients' cognitive functions.
The program was rolled out at the centers of SAGE in HK Eastern District in 2022 and will be extended to other centers in 2024.
MMRTD Users' Guidebook
Wrote and published the guidebook in English and Chinese versions in August 2023 (ISBN 978-988-702-0-2) so that SAGE and other partners could distribute the books to their dementia patients and families.
The guidebook aims to provide MMRTD users and their caregivers with a better understanding of Dementia, highlight the benefits of utilizing VR technology for rehabilitation, examine the unique characteristics of MMRTD, and offer a comprehensive description of the application.
MMRTD Headsets Donation
To address the issue of lack of resources at the care centers for VR technology, I also initiated a VR headsets donation drive to allow the SAGE care centers to be equipped with free VR headsets for the patients to use.
